Pelvic fractures

Nikita Zadneprovskiy

Pelvic Fractures AND THEIR CONSEQUENCES.

In the vast majority of cases pelvic fractures are caused by motor vehicle accidents and falls from height. Unstable pelvic fractures often lead to retroperitoneal hematomas formation and hemorrhagic shock.

Due to variable clinical manifestation diagnostic and treatment of this group of patients can be difficult for a single surgeon and can become a challenge for a whole hospital.

One of the main challenges in such cases is to define optimal consequence of surgical invasions and their potential trauma in patients with combination of head, chest, abdominal, pelvic and skeletal injuries.

Prerequisites of successful treatment of patients with pelvic fractures are: exhaustive, precise and timely diagnostic; objective estimation of patients severity; correct consequence and volume of treatment procedures (incl. surgery) and early complex rehabilitation.
