2 fractures: cons vs surg

Using the example of a patient with fractures of both calcaneus, we can discuss relative indications for conservative and surgical treatment. In one foot there is an extra-articular fracture, with a slight translation of the bone to the lateral side and a slight loss of height. In the other one there is an intra-articular fracture with intra-articular displacement, a greater decrease in height, and a significant translation of the lateral wall under the outer malleolus.
The surgical treatment was performed on the 7th day with percutaneous techniques. We used a traction device and achieved the proper reduction reposition of the tongue-fragment with an awl, introduced through the fracture from the tuber. Fixation with screws using a mixture of Rodemund-Mattiassich and Forgon-Zadrovac techniques.
