Defect PAPROSKY II B

Later the patient suffered of pain, limitation of movement in the right hip joint. About 5 weeks after injury CT scan revealed a multi-comminuted fracture of the posterior wall of the acetabulum. Considering the large number of risk factors, multi-fragmented pattern of the fracture, three weeks old injury, age over 45 years, association with damage to the posterior wall, there were no prospects for a good result of reconstructive surgery. A decision was made on primary hip arthroplasty with a reinforcing ring.
Follow-up of the patient lasts for more than 3 years with anual x-ray and phisical testing. He is satisfied with the result.
